Title: IMPORTANT Information On Rebuilding the V4AW2 aka A44DL

A couple months back, I got a lockup tranny V4AW2 aka AW 03-72L aka A44DL for my gen 1 v6.  I tore it all down and put all new sealing rings, o-rings, and gaskets along with a new torque converter.  700 miles later torque converter and pump were destroyed.  Come to find out, the lockup relay valve was stuck do to an error in the Mitsubishi fsm on mitsubishilinks.com.  Also, no gaskets whatsoever in the valve body were used.  The guy who helped me diagnose the failure swears by no gaskets in all Aisin Warner Autos and ford C4 and C6. Attached are images of the incorrect mitsubishi fsm ans a correct toyota version.

Here is the mitsubishi version, with the incorrect orientation of the signal valve circled.

And lastly here is the correct Toyota version.  Note the orientation of the circled part. This is the correct order and will avoid a converter and pump failure.

 Brian, In the Wiki lets have a sort of TSB section for fixing these errors.
