Gen 1 Montero / Re: Coolant temp needle position

Ta for that guys. I took your advice and bought a Fluke and shot the radiator hose after sitting in LA traffic for 45 minutes. The hose registered at 180-185 with the needle just shy (below) of the 9 o'clock position. This is a 91 with fresh OEM sensors.

Gen 1 Montero / Coolant temp needle position
« on: August 19, 2018, 09:30:53 PM »
I've always had an electric fan with a 3 row radiator out of four cyl Raider. So I've never seen where the needle should typically rest when the engine is up to operating temp. Middle? Above middle, below middle? I'm wondering if I'm running my engine too cold?

Thanks in advance.

Very cool build man and I dig the direction you're going. I know what you mean about pulling speaker wiring. I found it easier to pull the fenders off and run it through the door. Otherwise it was just a complete nightmare. 6.5" speakers meant chopping up the door skeleton. Wasn't a fan of doing, but I was less a fan of the speakers in the lower dash.

I'm considering getting my seats recovered in Landy Sorrel Brown, which appears to be a similar tan color that you used. Is that the paint code?
