Pulled the trigger on the Marks gears. But still want to see if this leads anywhere. An auto would be cool but they seem to be pretty rare in the 2.6 and have never seen one in my area. Called Midwest trans and talked to a guy who seemed to know his shit but he couldn't really answer my question of if this would work. I'm sure he was asking him self WTF why would anyone want to. As far as drive lines go maybe I'll get lucky and the splines will be the same and I can use the montero stuff. I'm still looking for a fm145. Started tearing down my spare t-case to put the marks gears in and pulled the km apart a little.

yes a 2.6 .The FM has a removable bell housing and I think the ford bolt pattern is different. The other thing I think the ford uses a internal slave cyl. I have not found a FM yet to put them side by side. But a few pics on the net kinda makes it look like the guts and back half will bolt on to the KM. Not sure how the input shafts compare but might be able to mix and match. Headed to Moab in Oct I want lower gearing this time I'm about to pull the trigger on Marks gears but I'd rather do this.

Found a few topics but no solid answers. Anyone put fm145 guts and back half in a km 145 case ?  This way you can get the shifter out of the t-case and can bolt on a bw1350 or bw1350 doubler combo with better low gearing options then Marks 4wd.
