Apparently a couple Gen 1 and Gen 2 owners have already done it lol. The Gen 2 owner aka 99Monstero on Instagram made his own shroud for the fan.

I got the Taurus 2 speed fan, so that will be my project this friday, is getting that to fit. It's the same size as a Gen 2 Montero Radiator core, so we shall see. The fitment part is the only thing that will require a writeup as there are countless writeups for this fan into just about everything as far as wiring goes.

Yep, I have a cover. Do you want the inspection plate or the whole timing cover with inspection plate?

just the inspection cover, I misplaced mine and it's been about 3 months ago lol.

Gen 2s have 31.75mm outlets on the radiator vs your 35mm outlets. I have been looking at doing a Flex-a-lite fan on my SR, as they are close to being the same size.

Hey Kev, do you have the Timing Inspection cover for the right DOHC cam cover?

Time to go visit the junkyard tomorrow.

Edit: On 2nd thought, this is for  Montero Sport isn't it? If it is, you guys have a different sized radiator than a Gen 2, a few inches bigger in Length and width.

Ebay, mine came from Lativa over in Eastern Europe as well as mine are for 1992-94 Pajero but they are also the Depot reproduction lights too.

Here is one side with the sealed beam shroud with the same style corners as mine.

Is there more info somewhere on converting a Gen 2?  Ive searched for it but cant find anything.

No, there are no known write ups on the web yet. It has been done several times around the globe, Adam (Toasty) has done it twice using sheet metal from Gen 1s. You would need the early Japanese Headlight bezels to start off with, if you are lucky enough you could obtain the panels too that are spot welded to core support. I have both of these, just have other things to tend to before I dive into this swap.

I haven't been able to confirm if the 2000+ sports are the same, because someone already robbed them off the one at the wreckers. Don't over think things lol, Sports have a dual bulb corner setup, so as far as 96-99 Sports go, just remove the corner lights (1 phillips up top and 1 behind the valence), and you will have access to the pigtails you need to grab.

Yes the Gen 1 Sport corners have everything you need to do the swap. I also edited to my post to clarify things a bit.

The Solution is Gen 1 (96-99) Montero Sport Corner lights. I did some digging on ASA and google images last night, and just got home now from the local wrecking yard. Pulled off a 99 Sport, the turn indicators in the bumpers use the exact same plug style as the small corner parking light (the brown connector in the pic). All you need is to grab the twin connector pig tails from the corners, that is it. I just compared to bumper lights to verify the connector style since those run a 1156/57 type of bulb.

Hrm... what are those corners exactly?  Don't think i've seen those before.

Got a pic of the plug end of those bulb sockets?  Your larger bulb looks more standardized than what i think the rest of us are getting.

Early Gen 2 (1991-93) and the plug connections on them are just like Kevin's 2.5 corners up above.
Like so on this Gen 2 SWB

I noticed my EDM/JDM corners are a bit different other than the obvious Amber lens in mine, it has the raised deflector spot similar to an AMG Galant Corner light. Mine are DEPO reproductions however, but hey can't beat brand new lights no less! I'll try to do some digging around the interwebs for a similar plug for the turn indicator.

Hmmm. I have no complaints with the 20+mpg itís getting. Youíre yielding better mpg?/

You're yeilding better mileage than me then lol. Maybe just mine needs the new jets lol.
