I was talking about me because I have an ARB in the rear with drum brakes but would like to swap discs on to my rear housing.

I have been using them for 20+ years never had a problem on 3 different vehicles all 4X4. They are great for keeping the mess off your skid plates.

I still like his original idea. If I already have upgraded gears and ARB I wouldn't want to get rid of those for disc brakes but if I could take gen 2 disc brakes only and upgrade my current axle to discs from drums. My rear drums stop pretty good but I'm sure rear discs with the right master cylinder and proportioning valve would be better.

My Gen 1 does not have ABS so not sure if this works on a Montero or not. On my Dodge truck the ABS can really mess you up especially in sand and mud so I just pull the fuse and it doesn't work any more. When I get back to pavement I just put the ABS fuse back in.

There is more beef to them it just doesn't look like it because the Siberian bushings have a lip on the outside where the original bushings fit flush inside the arm with no lip on the outside.

This from a SWB V6 89 that I broke then up graded to the Gen 2. No problems since and love the Siberian bushings. I had the rear sway bar on when they broke but off now with the new Gen 2 arms. Welded one at bottom is not mine donated from the wire back when by one of the mods.

These days I carry a CO2 tank for airing up tires which can be used as a backup for your airlocker. just need to charge the system to get locker to work then leave it locked till you hit pavement or don't need it any more for that particular trail.

I've had mine mounted on passenger fender of Gen 1 for 28+ years and I'm on my third one now. First two were ARB one older style second newer style and the third one is a HF modified with the small ARB tank. I never really thought about the heat thing under my hood I thought my problem was I was airing up tires with it because that made the little units fairly warm. Hey I still get about 10 years out of a compresser so I guess I can't complain. I have a little infared temp gun I will take on my next big trip and start taking temps under there next to it.

We have used one like this on our quads. I think something like this on the return hose would give you some extra cooling and simple easy install.

The GE are a twin tube design and use neoprene bushings and a seal that allows the shock to move freely while not allowing it to melt when pushed hard at higher temps they are better shocks and a Montero has a specific one GE3583. I have used Tokico shocks for 25 years and they have never let me down made in Japan for japanese vehicles. Not so good for american full size trucks.

I bought one for just over $600 with shipping for front locker compressor and extra solenoid. It looks like a very well built unit the compressor might even be better. They come with all the goodies you need for installation as well. Ernest will be installing it shortly for me along with the 5.29 gears. My rear is an ARB I bought 20+ years ago and has worked flawlessly except for the compressors which I have gone through 4. We will be rebuilding my rear unit at same time leaks a little these days but kit was only $25 so has been a great investment.
