The only things I need now are the  larger 3X mm sockets/wrenches (although I don't see me changing axle shafts yet...*knock on wood*). I really should snap a pic... Even tossed a mini-hacksaw, extra fuses, electrical tape, pair of work gloves, anti-sieze paste & OBDII w/ABS scanner in for good measure.

Guess I should intro myself as it seems I haven't yet...

I'm John from the great white north. A few hours north of Phil in Alberta. Found our 03 XLS in September 17 for a song. Basically cash out of pocket was less than a grand. And then the repairs started (Transmission, harmonic balancer, serpentine belt, brake pads and rotors all around, hub & bearing, rear caliper and all the fluids in the last 6 months).

Not new to car-camping as I've done it my whole life thanks to my parents. Already added a few "enhancements" and most of those are documented on my Instagram account by the same name Davis_664.

On Expedition Portal, I'm exmilitary. I'm also on MMUSA...

Okay, I think that's enough for now. Glad to be here.

John

Cool. Yeah, I have my BT OBDII as well as a cable unit that reads ABS codes too. That stays in the "trunk" with my multimeter.

Damn, I have a 30mm from my GMC days. Always nice to have a reason to buy tools though 😀

8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24mm wrenches and sockets pretty much dissassemble the whole thing.

Best thing I've read today. Thanks for that. Much appreciated!!!

Have been mulling over the idea of keeping a tool bag in the vehicle for those "just in case" situations that arise at the least convenient times.

So instead of hauling around a 200 plus piece socket set and multiple various pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers etc, has anyone compiled a list of the common use size tools?

Like 1 each of 10mm through 15mm wrenches and sockets in 3/8 and 1/4" drive. Various visegrips, wire cutters, needle nose, channel lock, etc pliers. (Not worried about listing zip ties, tape, bulbs, etc)

Being new to the Mitsubishi lifestyle, I've noticed there aren't a whole lot of SAE sizes needed...

Figure there's no point in bringing tools along that will never see daylight....
