Gen 2 Montero / Re: Driveshaft limitations
« on: August 15, 2018, 03:12:17 PM »
Shocks are the primary limiting factor on stock Rigs right? So with a longer travel shock (which I have) currently my limiting factor is the rubber brake line. If I get the brake line sorted out, I guess I'm wondering at what point I'll need a limit strap to not over extend or damage the driveshaft.

I asked this on MMUSA and Eric directed me here to ask.

With all other limiting factors aside, how much suspension droop can the stock rear driveshaft handle before it comes apart? I see no real slip yoke so there has to be some kind of limitation, but where is that limiting point?

Thanks

I'm contemplating building a new set that are slightly longer and bind less under articulation. Similar to what bronco guys do.

Does anyone know the size and thread pitch of the frame side of the radius arms? Also what the bolt size is for the axle end of the radius arms?

Thanks
