For Sale Automotive / Rare OEM Montero DC flashlight
« on: February 12, 2019, 12:42:09 PM »
I've seen lots of Montero's over the years but this is the first time that I've ever seen the OEM flashlight that came with them. It has a magnet on the back that attaches to the metal bracket in the rear left corner. The cord is about 10-12 feet long and plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet.
It's pretty bright and in great shape.

SOLD shipped to the lower 48.

It's pretty much all across the board.

Not sure if it comes on sooner as it spooled up pretty quick before, it just pulls hard all the way up to about 3000rpm

Yeah, 2.5" straight pipe.

It is in the EGR block off plate.

More power for sure! I gained about 5-6 psi of boost and the EGT's are down about 100 degrees on the average. I haven't checked the mileage.

PLH:

Thanks, your numerous posts have been immensely informative; I anticipate having more than a few questions for you once I actually dive into this project....

Nothing too exciting to report, the funds I've been planning to use for this project were delayed for about a month, putting things on hold; they should be freed up later this month, enabling me to move ahead.

I was able to take advantage of the 40% sale at the semi local pick-n-pull yard over the weekend, scoring a non cracked dash I've been searching for in the same blue as my interior, a replacement front passenger turn signal, and 2x windshield wiper arms from a Volvo 740 for a grand total of $32, which I was pretty satisfied with.

I had seen Volvo windshield wiper arms mentioned as a simple bolt on upgrade with far more common/standard 'J' style blade mounts over on mightyram50, http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin/showthread.php/6425-Volvo-240-windshield-wiper-arms

Happy to report the info was accurate, they're a near perfect match; the set I pulled were from a Volvo 740 I believe.

Hoping to order my D4BF motor by the end of the month and praying S Korea isn't slapped with some obscene tariff before I can get it landed stateside.

I'm wondering if any of you can help me in tracking down a set of wheels... I'm hoping to find 'NATO' style steel rims in 16"x7" / 6x139.7mm / 108mm center bore with workable backspacing.

I incorrectly presumed there would be plenty of likely OEM choices from other vehicles fitting those specs but am coming up pretty dry....

As of now, the leading candidates are:

These Montero steel rims that check all my boxes, but at $95/ea, $475+shipping for the 5 I want, seems stupid high for such basic rims....

These Toyota steel rims look promising, are pretty affordable at $55/ea, $275 shipped for 5, but having the centers bored from 106mm to 108mm adds to the cost and I'm not certain the center bores would be conducive to a machinist's boring bar due to the fact that they're stamped. Being lugcentric, tt shouldn't really matter though.... Can anyone confirm?

The only other semi viable choice I've come across would be these stock Toyota Tacoma alloy rims. They're the only alloy rims I've found with aesthetics I like, they can be found pretty cheap on CL, but having the centers bored from 106mm to 108mm adds to the cost before bead/sand blasting/painting them.

This however is all academic/research at this point as I'm not certain what backspacing I'll want after swapping in the wider MS rear axle and front suspension/steering as well as what front fender well clearances I'll need to contend with after the modest +/-2" lift I'm hoping to gain from the UCAs/HD Torsion bars and 235/85r16 tires.

Any educated insights/advice is appreciated.

I had to clearance my aluminum Trooper wheels to clear the larger axle center diameter of the Montero axle. A router with rabbiting bit made quick work of it.
