beautiful truck! You should get a lifetime of reliable service out of it with that Weber.

Thanks! Still a work in process. One thing I HAVE to do (which is on the list for next week) is to install a Holly 12-804 Pressure Regulator. The ole girl runs fine except on steep inclines. Its definitely related to fuel pressure.

They're known for that. I was looking for an article written years ago with the "Make a weber climb" how-to, but the thread had no pictures.

This video might help, certainly google this though, there's info out there.

Thanks for this! This helps big time.

Welcome! If you think the 2.6 is simple you should see the 2.5 diesel that goes in. It has 1 required electrical circuit.

I looked into all kinds of diesel engine options and the Mitsubishi 2.5 TD was the one I liked the most before I settled on the 2.6L. It looked easy to swap in, and easy to work on myself. The only concern I had was finding replacement components for it. Its already hard enough to find replacement parts for 1st gens and the 2.6L. I'm not sure if the 2.5 TD would be any better?

One of my buddies is a diesel mechanic and we've talked a lot about different engine possibilities. He really wants to put a 4BT under the hood. I've researched this and I haven't found any information on anyone that's completed this build.

Hey ya'll, I'm a proud new 1st Gen owner. In February, I purchased a 1987 1st Gen Dodge Raider (Automatic). I work as an Agricultural and Natural Resources Extension Agent (sort of like a farming consultant) and was looking for another 4x4 that I can alternate driving in with my F-150 on farm visits. Needless to say, the Raider I purchased had all the different things I was looking for in a vehicle and fit my budget perfectly.

The vehicle already had the weber conversion completed when I purchased it. I've done some work on it since purchasing it, but all in all the vehicle is pretty solid for its age. I had originally thought of putting a diesel under the hood, but after tinkering with the 2.6L, I've had a change of heart because of its simplicity.
