Gen 1 Shifter Refresh - Seals & Springs
« on: August 24, 2017, 04:57:20 AM »
My new to me 1985 SWB Montero has some play and slop in the shifter assembly that I'm looking to address.

The seals that fit from the shifter and transfer case lever are loose and I believe dirt and water was getting into the gearboxes, based on the fluid color.

Looking for info on how to "refresh" the shifter so it has less play, returns to neutral consistently, and shifts crisper.

I found in CAPS the following parts, but I'm having difficulty finding any for sale.  Are these all the parts that are needed to refresh the shifter assembly?

I did find the bushing kit on eBay from Thailand.  Have bought New Old Stock parts from Thailand and Malaysia before with no issue.

Now to find the return springs, was thinking of checking a trans rebuild shop who specializes in KM145s.
