Crank pulley tool Phoenix?
« on: September 22, 2017, 02:01:00 PM »
Anyone know where to rent a crank pulley removal tool? (tried Autozone) I made one from aluminum strap and it didn't hold up turned into spaghetti.  Made one out of some 1/2 plywood, it broke too..  Need to get to that timing belt!

I think there is a tool auto zone sells that works, PA_JERO has one I think. Maybe he'll chime in where you can get one.

Maybe the water neck crossover pipe that connects at the rear of the water pump housing. My gates kit did not come with that i had to go to the dealer for that one.

yeah, I thought so as well but the one in the gates kit is twice the size of the crossover.

Never found where it went so I moved on.

Those kits may cover more than one car application.

well crap,

got it all back together, fired it up,  ran for 20 seconds, and the timing belt skipped...  Wonder if my new tensioner is crap..

Turns out the 2 roller pins on the crankshaft gear were sheared so the timing plate was just spinning.  Broke a bit trying to get the pins out so just ordered a new gear.. All is well now!  Best part is a timing belt job is now less than 2 hours if you don't have to do a waterpump with it!
