A few more quick updates. First of all, when changing the alternator, it's going to be a fun afternoon. Here's something the FSM misleads: there is an extra bolt hidden from view on the underside of the A/C mount bracket. I was only able to find it once I had the old alternator off and out of the way. I've marked it with red arrows.


Then, I figured out why I didn't have any oil pressure indication... well, this one was much easier to figure out:
