FB MMUSA group - list of things you get tired of answering?
« on: November 18, 2017, 04:54:31 PM »
Like many of you, I get tired of the same questions over and over and over... ad nauseum. One way we can generate traffic and content here is to create some threads to answer the questions we all are sick of. Then we simply post the link to the FB group when it gets asked, and we bring people here, while providing valuable tech.

So I thought we could start by generating a list of topics that get asked again and again. After we've established the most popular, we can see about answering them once and for all...

A few to start:

1. What's the biggest tire I can fit on my (INSERT MODEL HERE).

2. What's the best transmission fluid to use in my (INSERT MODEL HERE).

Others?

I meant this not as a complaint post, but rather as a means to help answer questions that get asked repeatedly in a quicker manner by directing them to the answer here...

I heard monteros are super cheap where can I get a creampuff with 30k miles on it for $250?

😐

Also really the most persistent question that seems to come up is a "where do I start" or "where do I buy shit" which is why I made that sticky thread about gen2 quick start.

"Look at my glare bar I had to get for some reason" is a bit common too.  :(   But it isn't a question.

Way to be ahead of the game phil. I like it.
Now tell me montero group: Forester vs. Montero
Which one should I get?

I know people need input on vehicles before they purchase, but I feel like there is an Internet full of knowledge on most vehicles that people are just to lazy to research. Don't ask the mitsubishi group if you should buy a forester, discovery, 4 runner, or a montero. Just buy a montero, mighty max or any other mitsubishi you want and live a long and pain less life.

Boom!!!

Got tired of the 100's of tags and questions daily. Wasn't getting any actual work done so i slid out undetected. Glad that's handled, time to work on the Wiki.

Not undetected, noticed immediately

Coming from the guy who already defected. Perhaps he's trolling? :)

It really can be all consuming. I've turned off my fb notifications altogether, since I can't have dings going off in class all day long. Just the member requests alone are an all-day-every-day ding. The fellas have been really good at handling those, and I feel a bit guilty about not doing more approvals, but you have to have limits right? And I try not to leave an approval hanging here for long (we have a great team here and there, so I think its covered pretty well).

I really want to pull more tech out of here and send more inquiries from there. Its mutually beneficial.

The important thing is that we're getting the band back together, how's everyone liking the new forum so far?

Lloyd, Lloyd, Lloyd...it's spelled DEXRON...no "T". We've been over this.

I turned off notifications from FB, too. Even though I only access forums and FB from my home computer, it's frustrating to see 67 emails about stuff in the inbox every day that don't concern me in the least.

So Lloyd, is a 20'x60'x6" slab 22.22 yards of concrete? If I do the site prep and set the forms, what's that gonna cost?
