Front end Creaking Spund
« on: January 04, 2018, 05:24:05 PM »
 >:( Just replaced all Ball joints in the front. Tierods as well. All MOOG parts. When driving around I here a creak when the vehicles suspension flexes. (Before and after new ball joints) .

When I'm parked and jump up and down on the vehicle bouncing it, there is no sound. So I took off the front stabilizer bar thinking it may be creaking when it twists, still same creaking sound is present.

Anyone have this? Think it's time for the control arm bushings? Maybe engine mount?

When I was doing the ball joints I made sure there wasn't any play in the upper control arms but couldn't really check the lower. Bushings are 20 years old. 96 LS. Thanks

Does it sound like almost every early to mid 2000's Ford Explorer, F150 and last generation Ranger?

I'm sure there is still a million of them available special order, shouldn't be too expensive.  Some guys here locally got all the extra ones i bought already.

What toasty said, but also, the lower controll arms as well. Especially if the rear lower bolt and or the front lower bolt rusted to the sleeve of the original bushing. That caused all of my noise.

I honestly don't even know what part this is, there aren't any springs in the front ? Where is it at ? Graciass

My gut feeling is that I should've done the CA bushings .

At the back end of the tosrion spring there is a splined adjuster. It rests in a saddle on the crossmember, the silencers are on the ends of that adjuster that touch the crossmember.

What’s that yellow poly bushing I see? Is that the TC one? Source?

That's a Delica diff bushing, they work enough to get the job done. Holding up to 4:1 and 35's so far but don't mount them horizontally, i found they aren't as strong.

Wow.  My truck has pretty much none of those fancy looking rubber/plastic things under it.  Are my new bars coming with those? Or do i need to source them?
