Any place that sells pizza, because I only ever here about how shitty the pizza is here. So that would be then first thing I would do. Then find a really bad ass sammich shop, because who doesn't like a bad ass sammich?

Pizza is ON for tonight!! Maybe lunch today too.

Last night I just got a Subway sandwich because it is right across the street from the hotel,  not really exciting.   Welcome to the big Apple.

Not really close to Times Square in the NYC way of thinking, but Katz's Deli is pretty famous for their sandwiches.

Pizza, if you like thin crust stuff, should be pretty easy to find there.

But Chicago-style, knife and fork because it's so thick, is my bag.

I spent 17 hours in a closet today so breakfast and lunch didn't happen.  Finally walked to a place called 2bros on 8th Ave and 38th St, got an acre of cheese pizza and a can of beetus for $3 no tax.    Pie wasn't good but I was hungry enough to eat anything

Now i'm curious if New York pizza is bad ass as they say, New York seems like the kind of town that would claim it's better than it actually is.

I'm not sure what pizza it was in Illinois I had but it was thick and super bomb. So I'm down with Johnny's deep dish Chicago style. I've never had NY pizza though, but many people say we Arizona folk don't know what good pizza is. I guess I will have to fly to NY and give it a try. Like any where I'm sire there are some really good places, and some really bad places.

I've had Bianco's pizza which is said to be some of the best in the country, it's pretty good.

So far I haven't been able to explore a lot,  work comes first and I spent all day yesterday in a utilities closet, with only a quick escape for subway.

Since monday I've eaten at subway twice (it's right outside my hotel, problem SOLVED) and the street corner pizza counter late last night because I was exhausted, and haven't eaten or seen anything else.   A few minutes ago I walked over to some weird juice counter blasting puerto rican rap music, came away from that with a piece of toast that had almonds, honey and bananas on it, and somehow that plus a juice was 17 dollars to make up for last night's bargain pizza.

Like any adventure I want to spend more time exploring,  there is a lot to see here.   From my hotel room window is a canyon so deep I can't see the bottom, just canyon walls as far as I can see in any direction.    But I have to go back to the utility closet and do more computer nerd stuff instead.

All right I finally got to eat some pizza at a restaurant, Rattle N Hum.   It's the real deal.  The nearly free counter pizza last night was on the good side of OK.. in their defense it was cheaper than a gallon of gas. This restaurant pizza is near perfect.   Credit where it's due, New Yorkers know how too make one and their water or what ever magic they use, it works.  So the legendary status is deserved in my book.

It's just called "pizza."   Not "NY pizza."  :P

There's a difference between the ultra greasy/floppy/salty $2 slice, that's probably called "street pizza."  You eat that when you're in a hurry or bombed out of your mind.  It's the equivalent of Taco Bell, but still way better.

The real deal is more like a Neopolitan thing.  Ultra good.  Any time someone complains about "NY Pizza"  (it's just "pizza," dammit), they only snagged a $2 slice somewhere and didn't actually bother to try harder.  If the only steak you ever had was at Denny's, you'd probably not love steak, either.

Maybe we should just call it East Coast Pizza, or maybe throw East Side gang signs and say it's "E-side Pizza". I just eat what ever pizza I can get here that's decent, but I still hate little ceasers.
