Not NYC related but if you're local to AZ and on the east side, there is a place in the middle of nowhere SE valley that does a decent Chicago style pie. Not claiming it's the real thing but for AZ it's pretty darn good. Buddy'z (yes with a Z) if you're interested.

I didn't realize south-westerners found the midwest and east coast pizza so confusing and dividing.

In the midwest we eat ny pizza, chicago pizza, dive bar pizza, pretty much any pizza... there's a huge spectrum of awesome to terribly awesome pizza out there. Go get you some!
