Front passenger window regulator
« on: June 08, 2018, 04:15:48 PM »
My front window regulator broke a couple weeks ago, I went down to autozone and bought a replacement and installed it. All went well until I tried it out and realized that the wires seemed to have been flipped on the new one because the window was now going opposite of the switch. So I took it back and am now installing the replacement. I decided to test this one before I got it put all the way together and same thing. The window goes up when the switch is pushed to go down. Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm not very good with wiring so how hard would it be to rewire it myself? Or should I just take it back and try again?

Has no one had a problem with with the regulator? Is there a different regulator that some of you use, maybe from a different source or a different brand name?

It should just be swapping 2 of the 3 wires. if I had to guess I'd say the outside two in the connector.

So I ordered a different brand and it had the same issue. I was going to cut the wires and switch them, but the discovered that I could actually pull them out of the connector and flip them. Took all of 1 minute. The blades are only held on by a little tab.

Had the same problem with both right and left sides.  Just removed the blades from the connector and swapped them around.  Small flat blade screwdriver works them loose and then just swap and push them back in.  You could also cut and re solder the wires as well.

Switching the blades around is definitely the way to go. I imagine the aftermarket manufacturers just got the wrong specs.
