Weird Keyless Entry/Alarm Behavior
« on: July 19, 2018, 07:01:50 AM »
Okay, boys and girls, I'm having an issue with our '06 that isn't documented in the FSM and I don't have a MUT-III to play with, so bear with me.

On many occasions, with no seemingly common variables, the remote won't unlock the doors. When it does, 9 times out of 10 it doesn't disable the alarm. Then, clicking unlock again stops the alarm and all is right with the truck.

I changed the batteries in the remote, no change.

I pulled out the ETACS ECU and cleaned every connection with Deoxit, even cracked open the box to check it out. No leaking caps or visible corrosion. I did my best to check for bad welds but it's not easy to get to the underside of the board.

I got frustrated and threw $60 at a good used ETACS ECU that will be arriving this week. I'll let you know about my progress!

Has this happened to anyone else? Is anyone here accomplished at making MM ECUs do what they're supposed to again?
