High Desert Trails 2017
« on: April 06, 2017, 01:57:06 PM »
I don't rally as much as I used to, but I still make a point of volunteering at two events every year. The first is located in California, in the mountains west of Ridgecrest, in the California Republic. I'll be departing Phoenix on Friday, May 5th, and likely sleeping in my truck that night where the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) crosses a rally stage.

The weekend before that, I'll be sleeping in my truck somewhere in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.

The weekend before that, I've got Adventure Driven Designs doing the 180K service on Fezzik, my 98 Pajero.

And I think I'm working both weekends between now and then. Oh yeah, and I turn 40 somewhere in the middle of all this.

If anyone in the SW was interested in seeing some rally car action up close and personal--and/or wanted to make use of ham radio skills in the field--I'd recommend checking out highdeserttrails.com and signing up. You'll get a shirt and a sammich if you show up! :P
